So on to the picky men that I referenced before. Can someone PLEASE explain this phenomenon to me....
Successful guy wants to meet a beautiful, accomplished, educated woman (check)
He wants her to be interested in experiencing the finer things in life (check)
Drop everything and be able to travel with him whenever at a moment's notice (WHAT?
Ok.. I'm in a quandary. How are you supposed to be accomplished and be able to just drop everything and travel with him on the drop of a dime. AND he's talking about extended trips. *shakes head*. Now, pardon me if I'm wrong, but since I do have a career and advanced education, I have a LIFE, career, home.. who's going to be taking care of all that while I'm off galavanting around the world with him? Now, this has happened to me ( not on this site, believe that). Met a great guy, really cared about him but he wanted me to up and go with him to Dubai for 6 weeks. I would have been a great asset to him because of my understanding of the culture, etc. But what about my bills and mortgage, graduate studies... ? Seriously, guys.. you can't have it both ways because the average, middle of the road lady who is about something... has something... RESPONSIBILITIES. And if you're not willing to take care of or consider that.. Good luck with the bubblehead who is going to EMBARRASS you or be at a loss for an answer when someone says "Hello".
Next, verifications. So I THINK I received requests to verify my picture. Now, I scrolled through that whole post about scammers and those photos, so I can understand. In fact, I verified everything that I could. But age... I'm 36. Who's going to lie about being 36? I say think because I noted something on my profile. Who asked for verification, I have no idea AND when. He's probably married by now.. LOL

I'm a rare one who CAN pick up and go, but only because I'm a freelance writer who just needs the Internet and a computer to work. I'm living a low budget life (right now!) in order to have complete freedom to come and go as I please.
However...I do have to agree that being able to travel on the spur of the moment is a mark of the upper-class lifestyle. It's the reason that Tim Ferris' "Four Hour Work Week" was such a hit. Much of being a person of means isn't about the money, but the freedom to do as you wish, at any time, anywhere.

the IDEA is that you ARE supposed to be rich and able to take off. Freedom to do so IS the epitome of wealth. A man like that wants his gal pal to be as rich and free as he is.

I've been on this site for almost a month, and I agree with your point that many, not all, of the guys can be a little picky! Maybe their need to set such high standards stems from the name and caliber of this site, "MillionaireMatch". Perhaps that induces guys into the belief that if they're coming to the buffet(cyber dating)with deep pockets, they're entitled to every item on the menu before selecting an ideal mate. I know I can't (always without some planning, and yes, I can be spontaneous)simply take off at a moments notice. I'm sure this is the case for most of the beautiful, accomplished, successful,and educated women on this site. It takes time and hard work to obtain the aforementioned excellence. I know it did for me. (With the exception of beauty, that one came naturally, lol). Guys you must be willing to compromise if you're seeking the cream of the crop, otherwise you might loose out on a jewel while she's either working, or at the library cramming for an exam. You can't have it both ways, not unless you're looking for a bubblehead to impress you and your friends the next time you're having an intellectual conversation discussing Hemingway's book, A Farewell to Arms, and your date (the bubblehead)references it as a diet book! I guess men/women want what they want, its an individual choice. I think our next topic should be do men really know what they want in a relationship, or, are they simply sharing in their profile what they think women what to hear???? Food for thought!!!

I've been on this site for almost a month, and I agree with your point that many, not all, of the guys can be a little picky! Plenty of people have the ability to pick up and go. It just takes lots and lots of money. Having a good support network also helps. House sitters and babysitters are just hired hands...
