Wow Michael, You should re-consider public radio (NPR), and bring your brilliant poetry to the masses! BTW: Do you sound like Garrison? (jk).
Keep sharing your written expressions of slices of life.

Sass,
Funny you should mention that. This poem has been a blessing when I've shared it. It was published in a book put out by the New York Times. I've done 30-40 interviews regarding it.
A radio host in New Jersey asked me 'who' I wrote this for? What was or better yet, 'who' was my inspiration for writing my poetry?
It became somewhat of an enigma that other interviewers were attempting to find out.
I was giving a reading of it on a radio station in Chicago along with other poetry I've written back about a year ago. It was the first time I'd narrated my poetry in a public forum. I read 5 poems I'd written.
Needless to say (and somewhat embarrassing for me) I got several invites for dinner, one lady offered to send me a plane ticket, 3 online stalkers and one marriage proposal (although she was a literary agent and I'm sure she was only joking). Interesting to say the least.
I've not read any of my poetry in public since. One interviewer asked me if I had read it to any special lady, one on one. Of course I have not.
Thank you for your kind comments. I appreciate you sweet lady.

Lovely to read and I bet would be delightful to hear this narrated by Garrison Keillor. His voice gets me every time. I need to break out one of my old News from Lake Wobegon CDs.....
